CLASS DESCRIPTION
This six hour, two-part class (or as it's known in Texas as Parent Education & Family Stabilization course) is designed to assist parents in coparenting. Part I focuses on the adult issues related to conflict and keeping children out of the conflict. Part II focuses on children's issues related to conflict and recognizing children's needs. The class may be taken in any order, though we encourage participants to attend part I first. Classes are for adults only.

PART I : The Adults
This part of the class focuses on the adult issues related to conflict and keeping children out of the conflict. Topics covered include: You, Stepparents and Others, Responsibility, Grief, Legal Decisions, Conflict Disengagement, Texas Alternative Dispute Options, Poor Adult Choices, The Other Parent, Co-parenting Rules

PART II : The Children

This part of the class is for adults and focuses on children's issues related to conflict and recognizing children's needs. Topics covered include: Children's Stages of Development, Access Considerations, Creating Two Homes, Appropriate Terminology, Talking to the Children, Grief, Divorce and Conflict, Mistakes Made in Involving Children, Benefits of Coparenting

All participants receive a certificate at the end of each class. To earn a certificate, parties must stay the full duration of the class. Check our Calendar page for scheduled classes and for the location of the class. Arrive 15 minutes prior to class for registration. Please note you are securing a place for this class when you make your payment. Late admission is not allowed after the class begins. Fees are not refunded to no show or late participants.

The fee for each part of the class is $40.00 per person and must be paid online at least 24 weekday hours in advance. Other Things to Know
* Neither session is appropriate for children and we do not provide accommodation for children
* We do not have a waiting area for anyone not participating in the class.
* We do not allow late admission. We encourage you to arrive no later than 15 minutes before class. 
* We will have materials available, though you are welcome to take notes.
* We do not allow video or audio recordings.
* You will be expected to turn off your cell phone for the duration of the class. There will be at least one break per session.
